PTCRB (North America)

PTCRB certification testing, also known as operator access certification, is managed by the PTCRB (PCS Type Certification Review Board), which was established in 1997 in North America to oversee PCS model certification.
While it initially focused on North American operators, PTCRB now includes mobile operators globally. The board provides certification for terminal products and template models, including Cellular GERAN (GSM), UTRAN (UMTS), and E-UTRAN (LTE).
To ensure that mobile phones or communication devices operate on PTCRB operators' networks, they must undergo PTCRB certification. This ensures that the devices meet the necessary standards and are compatible with operator networks. PTCRB certification is mandatory for mobile phones sold in North America.
