BIS certification (India)

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification is a mandatory requirement for electronics and IT products entering the Indian market. The certification ensures that products comply with Indian safety and quality standards before being sold.

Certification Process: Products fall under two BIS schemes: 
ISI Mark Scheme – For certain regulated products.
CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) – Applied to mobile phones and battery products, divided into: 
GOR (Grant of Registration) – For new product registration.
Inclusion – For adding new product models under an existing certification.
Applicable to: Mobile phones, laptops, power adapters, LED lighting, and more.
Key requirements: Electrical safety, environmental testing.
