FCC certification (USA)

FCC certification is mandatory for electronic and RF devices sold in the United States. It ensures compliance with radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations set by the Federal Communications Commission.

FCC Certification Categories mainly include the following three types:
Verification (Self-Verification): Applicable to certain low-risk electronic products. Manufacturers can conduct their own testing and declare compliance with FCC regulations.
SDoC (Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity): Applicable to most IT equipment, household appliances, etc. The supplier must provide a test report and mark the conformity declaration.
FCC ID (Wireless Product Certification): Applicable to products that support wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular networks (2G/3G/4G/5G). FCC ID certification must be reviewed and approved by an FCC-authorized TCB (Telecommunication Certification Body) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Applicable to: Bluetooth/Wi-Fi devices, mobile phones, IoT products, and other RF-emitting devices.

Key requirements: Part 15 & Part 18 compliance, RF exposure, and SAR testing.
