ISED certification (Canada)

ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada)certification is required for wireless and telecommunications products entering the Canadian market. It ensures that devices comply with RF exposure limits and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations.

The ISED certification process closely resembles the FCC process in the U.S., with similar test specifications. As a result, FCC and ISED certifications are often conducted together, minimizing additional costs.
Applicable to: Cellular phones, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth devices, industrial RF equipment.
Key requirements: Compliance with ICES & RSS standards, RF & SAR testing. These requirements are largely aligned with FCC regulations, making it common for Canadian certification to be performed in parallel with FCC certification.

Labeling: Certified products must bear the Industry Canada (IC) logo to indicate compliance.
